YOUR CUP OF THIS WEEK’S STRONGEST MARKETING TIP

Where are your customers?

This is the first time Michael has brought his kids on a business trip, take a look at this photo (taken around 7 AM today).

Kids What do you notice?.

The first thing that Michael’s kids go for are their iPods (including his soon to be one year old, tomorrow in fact.)

YouTube is their TV. Facetime and sending messages thru iMessage is how they prefer to talk to their friends.

Michael’s daughter sits for hours and records videos of her making slime even if she never posts them because she wants to be a Youtube star.

Michael’s one-year-old is able to scroll thru Snapchat and look at the different snaps he’s taken (mainly of her.)

We are not suggesting your target audience is a one-year-old baby, but the point is this: are you actually marketing in the places that your customers and prospects hang out? Are you building great content on these platforms and telling your story?

Your customers are getting more and more intelligent and the ways they are getting their information about companies they want to do business with has changed dramatically over the last ten years.

STOP MARKETING LIKE IT’S 2010.

Having a content strategy, a social strategy and a mobile marketing strategy are no longer optional in today’s marketing and business climate.

Figure out where your customers and future customers are hanging out and go there!

WHAT SHOULD BE ON YOUR READING MENU OVER THE WEEKEND

Starting with no

Starting with no While Michael thought he was a pretty good negotiator this book gave him the tools to up his game about five notches.

My biggest takeaway: the best negotiators are not interested in yes, they prefer no. I have always thought that finding a win-win solution was the best option, but the author states that poison lurks at the heart of the big lie that is win-win. This book gave me a totally new look at negotiating and closing.

AI Having Conversations For You?

Coffee Google recently unveiled its latest talking AI, called Duplex. Duplex sounds like a real person, complete with pauses, “umms” and “ahhs”. The tech giant says it can talk to people on the phone to make appointments and check business opening hours.

This technology is beyond interesting and right around the corner.

POWERFUL TOOL TO MAKE YOUR MARKETING A PIECE OF CAKE

Do More

Teamwork.com

There are dozens of project management tools on the internet, and dozens that Michael and our team have tried. While everyone has their personal preferences and biases towards one thing or another, we are raving fans of Teamwork.com. It is hands down the best project management we have ever used.

Many of you are most likely using multiple tools on a daily basis. We have been able to replace Slack with Teamwork chat and Trello with Teamwork board views to now have an all-in-one solution.

Our favorite feature: a seamless integration with all things Google and Google drive.

If you are on the hunt for a new or improved project management tool, this is the one to check out.
