Michael travels a fair amount, some months more than others. One of his favorite things about the travel (no, it is surely not the flights) is staying in different hotels and seeing how they interact with their guests.

He’s recently spoken at a conference in Michigan and stayed at the Amway Grand Plaza.

Within five minutes of getting to my room, he heard a knock on the door. To his surprise, it was a full blown fruit basket with some wine as a welcome to the hotel as a first timer.

From the check-in process, to the extra small touches and the beautiful fruit basket, this hotel wowed Michael.

The extra investment on their part of let’s call it about $20 was well spent. I left them reviews in five places and now am writing this to my list of 10,000+ about the great hotel.

My question to you is what are you doing on a regular basis to wow your customers? Brainstorm a short list of five things you can do and implement one next week. It can even be as simple as a handwritten thank you note or a more complex gift, but do something to keep their attention on you.

Facebook likes are great, new web traffic is awesome, more calls are good, but we are a results driven agency.
